CO-PRODUCING A LIVED EXPERIENCE FRAMEWORK

In 2018 Mark Johnson visited Australia as a result of being invited to give the keynote at the Reintegration Puzzle Conference. During his short visit Mark gave nearly 10 talks speaking to over 1,000 people and 7 media interviews, including 3AW, ABC Hobart, Hobart Mercury, WIN TV, Geelong Advertiser and ABC Melbourne.
In all these talks and interviews Mark consistently challenged his audiences around involving people with lived experience in the solutions. As a result, there was significant interest in the Lived Expert approach.
Corrective Services New South Wales has had the ambition of developing a lived experience framework for several years. It recognises that this needs to be done independently, so it has commissioned Lived Expert to undertake a consultation across the state in prisons and community corrections to understand peoples’ lived experience and to inform the development of a lived experience framework.
